ABOUT JOSH

Josh is from Westminster in Carroll County, Maryland, and graduated from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering. He is the third of six children born to his PCA church-planting parents. Josh loves his family deeply. Growing up a covenant child in a faithful PCA church, he was exposed to the beauty of the gospel from a young age and has been following Christ for as long as he can remember. Josh decided to attend UMBC for three reasons: it was close to home, his brother told him to, and it had an RUF chapter run by his parents' dear friends, Trip and Joy Beans. Through RUF at UMBC, the Lord showed Josh how much he didn't know about grace, humility and love, revealing to him the true nature of his own pride and brokenness. Throughout those years of wrestling with God and his own self, Josh learned to depend not on himself but on the sovereign, free and unchangeable love of God the Father, the merit and intercession of Jesus Christ, and the abiding of the Spirit.

Josh is so excited to be at Rutgers, to make new relationships and see the Lord work in New Jersey! He is thrilled to be so close to his family's roots in Brooklyn, mainly because of his love for good pizza and the Yankees. Josh loves the outdoors, hunting whitetail deer, exploring, and playing sports. He loves to sing and plays the piano, guitar, and bass guitar. He also spends a lot of time reading theology, philosophy, history, and Tolkien. Go, Scarlet Knights!
