Hyland grew up in central Florida as one of seven homeschooled siblings and attended Florida State University, where he graduated with his Bachelor’s in Creative Writing and a minor in Film Studies. While at FSU he was blessed to attend RUF for the entirety of his time there, growing spiritually and forging God-centered friendships that helped him make it through college without losing sight of his Lord. In particular he was impacted by his wonderful RUF Staff, and as a result he felt God pushing him to join the ministry as an intern once he graduated and to help bring that same impact to others. From a young age Hyland’s favorite hobby was reading, particularly fantasy, and since writing his first book at age 12 he’s never stopped writing. His favorite book is The Silmarillion, and his goal is to one day read the book on every continent (including Antarctica) He’s looking forward to sharing his faith and passions in Alabama!
