about WESTON

Born in Detroit, raised in Arizona, and growing up in California, Weston has been involved with RUF since 2011. He studied Environmental Science at UC Santa Barbara then stayed as an RUF-Intern. During those years, he met his wife Alaina leading a backpacking trip in the High Sierra’s. After getting married in Santa Barbara in 2018, they road-tripped through the National Parks and landed in Charlotte to attend Reformed Theological Seminary where he earned his M.Div. In 2023 they welcomed their delightful son, Vigo William, into the family.

Weston loves hanging out with college students; whether grabbing some poke, shredding some trail in the mountains, smashing spikeball, or just chatting about life. What he loves most though is walking alongside students as they discern and mature in their relationship with God. Feel free to drop him a line at weston.freels@ruf.org
