about CHRISTINA
Christina McWhite was raised in Port Charlotte, Florida. In her free time, Christina loves to sing/play her guitar, go thrifting, explore the city, roller skate, and read! She graduated from Florida Gulf Coast University with a degree in music therapy. While at FGCU, Christina participated in the Black Student Union, Basketball Band, the Music Therapy Association, and of course RUF! Being in the RUF community transformed Christina’s college experience. She found a place where she could cultivate her spiritual life surrounded by like-minded people. She was an active member of RUF, beginning with leading the worship team and eventually becoming vice president.
Christina served at FGCU's RUF for 3 years, and then moved to Tampa, FL to pursue a pre-graduation internship. This led her to join the University of South Florida’s RUF. There, she continued to build relationships with the students and help wherever she could. Through RUF, Christina realized the importance of intentionally pursuing relationships with others and how to be uncomfortable for the Gospel. She hopes to bring that mindset to the campus of WSSU. Christina is most looking forward to not only being in spiritual community with the students, but also living life with them. Her favorite phrase is “To Know God and be known by his creation."
