Janie Fortner

Janie graduated from Winthrop University in 2022 with a degree in Social Work and a minor in Religion. By the Lord's grace, Janie immediately stumbled upon RUF her freshman year in college. She experienced the gospel full of hope and truth, and that changed everything in her life. RUF continued to be a blessing for her all through college and was a place where she experienced deep community and was met with a lot of love and grace. Throughout her time at RUF, different staff and interns consistently invested in her, asked her questions, listened, cared deeply, and pointed her to Jesus.

In Janie’s free time, she enjoys going on adventures with her dog Lewis, spending time with people, playing board games, building lego sets, and doing most anything outside! She also enjoys any game or competition. Some of her favorites to play right now are pickleball, spikeball, Lacrosse, and ultimate frisbee.
